Nobility Through Piety [Taliq]

What distinguishes you from another is not your ethnicity, education, nor your money. None of those will matter once you enter your grave. Rather our single meaningful attribute that will be with us for all eternity is our degree of god-fearingness, the measurer of whom is only Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.

Despite the innumerable diversity in our races, languages and backgrounds, Allah has put us on this earth with all these differences so that we may know one another, and so that we may excel in piety and compete in good works for His sake. It is in essence a test for us to move beyond all outward superficiality, rejoice in the divine blessings of diversity, and, most importantly, connect with the true inward reality. This is the only path of eternal bliss.

Reflect and rejoice in this profound truth from Allah. Translation: Mankind! We created you from a male and female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you might come to know each other. The noblest among you in Allah´s sight is the one with the most taqwa (piety, God-consciousness/mindfulness, devotion, God-fearing). [Quran, 49:13].
